WOW!House – The Library
The WOW! House library is inspired by ballet, particularly Swan Lake, which Andrea believes is the epitome of elegance and romanticism. Having trained as a ballet designer since the age of eight, for Andrea this theme is deeply personal.
The influence of ballet is evident in the interior which speaks about fluidity and movement and has subtle nods to ballet. The room features swivel armchairs, elegant tassels, secret doors, a stylised forest on the ceiling, a rug mimicking rippling water, and a green leather floor that brings nature indoors.
Libraries offer entries into different worlds. For the design at WOW!House, Andrea aimed to evoke this sense of escapism. Him and his team achieved this by creating an immersive, theatrical atmosphere with luxurious curtain walls that wrap around the room, crystal chandeliers, and a bar, all reminiscent of going to the theatre.
Andrea always approaches design projects by imagining himself living in the space. WOW!house in particular is a celebration of his personal style.
“One particularly exciting aspect of WOW! House was the lack of budget constraints, which allowed my imagination to run wild and hopefully inspires visitors to do the same”.
"Andrea collaborated with the room sponsor, Chase Erwin—a fabric house that he has always felt an emotional connection to since the beginning of his journey in the interior design world—along with a variety of trusted suppliers and artisans to create the most beautiful pieces that bring fantasy to life. The final design is a cozy, elegant, and serene space that invites visitors to curl up with a good book and lose themselves in its pages."
