CHELSEA TOWNHOUSE
Set in bustling Chelsea this contemporary townhouse caters the needs of a vibrant, modern and international family. The house was recently re-developed and features striking architectural details such as a bronze floating staircase, shadow gap skirtings and recessed window treatments pockets throughout. The architecture of the house, as well as the client brief, set the tone for this project. Andrea designed a contemporary yet timeless scheme throughout with clean lines, neutral palettes and soft colour accents.
The heart of the house is the Ground Floor which is where the main Living Area is located. The seating area’s focal point is the bespoke Media Unit which features concealed LED lighting and a combination of tactile finishes including a silk wallpaper and bronze trims. The furnishings are all bespoke and the overall composition conjures a sense of quiet elegance.
The house’s contemporary aesthetic suggested the use of pendants. Andrea selected a combination alabaster pendants in the Master Bedroom and clear bubbled glass ones for the main Dining Area. They are all striking in an unobtrusive way.
The Home Office is a calm retreat located at the top of the house. This room benefits from a lot of natural light which turns into a soft glow thanks to the sheer window treatment. The restful palette of this room presents accents of a soft sage green. The sofa recessed in the joinery enclosure enhances a sense of tranquillity. The joinery is a combination of open and closed storage which is both practical as well as providing an area to display decorative objects. Printers and AV equipment is strategically concealed within these units leaving out only beautiful things to look at.
The client’s passion for art required a curated selection of paintings. Andrea had the opportunity to inject beautiful accents with a combination of collectors pieces from local art galleries as well as independent artists.
